WELCOME TO
Ashworth Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, and Acupuncture
Based on 4,443 tracked patient outcome reports.
Chiropractic, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, shockwave therapy, and functional medicine under one roof: a conservative alternative to surgery and open-ended treatment plans.
A thorough exam comes first. Treatment is matched to the diagnosis, starts with the least invasive option, and includes a home program so results last.
Outcomes are measured on every patient. No contracts or maintenance packages, and if another provider is a better fit, we’ll refer you.
MEET THE STAFF
Committed to giving honest answers, quality care, and treating each patient quickly and effectively.
MATTHEW WILSON
Chiropractic Care
Dr. Wilson combines Palmer-trained chiropractic care with a Postural Restoration Institute (PRI)-based functional examination that looks at breathing, stance, and compensation patterns, not just the site of pain. A Fellow of the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture, he also provides acupuncture and lab-based functional medicine.
KELLY BROWN GROSS
Physical Therapy
Kelly provides one-on-one orthopedic and post-surgical physical therapy and holds the Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) certification. Her specialties include pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, prolapse, postpartum recovery, and vertigo.
NAOMI HOOPER
Massage Therapy
Naomi provides therapeutic and deep tissue massage focused on releasing chronic tension and restoring movement, and is certified in TMJ manual therapy for jaw pain and clenching. Her sessions are frequently coordinated with chiropractic and physical therapy plans.
SHANNON BARNES
Massage Therapy
With more than 20 years of experience, Shannon provides therapeutic, deep tissue, and prenatal massage, adapting pressure and positioning to each patient’s condition and stage of pregnancy.
PRACTICE METHODS
Our promise to you is to make sure you know whether you are in the right place for your condition and if it is not here, we will get you there.
Chiropractic care at Ashworth begins with a functional exam grounded in the Postural Restoration Institute framework, so treatment addresses what is driving the pain, not just where it hurts. Techniques range from manual adjusting to low-force instrument and flexion-distraction methods, matched to the diagnosis.
One-on-one physical therapy for orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Treatment combines manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and dry needling, with a limited daily caseload so every session receives the therapist’s full attention. No physician referral is required in Iowa.
Focused extracorporeal shockwave therapy with the Storz Medical Duolith SD1 Ultra, used for chronic tendon pain, plantar fasciitis, calcific shoulder tendinitis, tennis elbow, and hip bursitis that have not responded to conservative care. Most protocols require three to six sessions.
Private, one-on-one pelvic floor physical therapy with a WCS-certified Women’s Health Clinical Specialist for urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, and postpartum recovery.
Acupuncture for chronic musculoskeletal pain, headaches, and stress- and sleep-related complaints. Needle stimulation influences local circulation, inflammatory signaling, and the nervous system’s pain-regulation pathways. Available as a stand-alone service or as part of an integrated treatment plan.
Therapeutic, deep tissue, trigger point, TMJ, and prenatal massage by licensed massage therapists. Sessions can stand alone or be coordinated with chiropractic and physical therapy plans to address soft tissue restrictions that limit progress.
Lab-based, root-cause care for patients whose standard labs came back normal but who still struggle with fatigue, digestive problems, hormonal symptoms, or weight. Targeted testing of gut health, adrenal and hormone function, and food sensitivities guides a specific plan.
Red light and laser therapy (photobiomodulation) uses specific wavelengths of light to reduce pain and inflammation and support tissue repair. It is used alongside chiropractic, physical therapy, and shockwave care, with home-use devices available for appropriate patients.
COMMON INJURIES WE TREAT
We offer a variety of treatments to many different injury types.
Coordinated Care, Under One Roof
Chiropractic care, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, shockwave therapy, and functional medicine are coordinated under one roof, so a patient who needs more than one discipline is not left to manage care between separate offices. Each provider works from the same diagnosis, in the right sequence, toward the same goal: getting you better.
Dr. Matthew squeezed me in on short notice and took very good care of me. He was very thorough and didn’t just adjust me and let me walk out. Amazing experience here and the receptionist is a sweetheart.
Dr. Matt and the entire staff have been GREAT! I went in for some issues I was having with my neck and back and Dr. Matt also helped me with some other issues I was having with my calf and shoulders that have made a HUGE improvement in my overall health and comfort.I highly recommend using Dr. Matt!
I really love it here! They are very friendly and I feel Dr. Wilson is giving me great treatment! I also don’t feel pressured into coming back too frequently. The adjustments are great! Great office!
My family have used chiropractic and physical therapy services here and every one of us have had excellent outcomes. I wouldn’t go anywhere else these folks are as good as it gets.

Both my husband and I have been helped greatly by Dr Wilson for our back & neck. We left ND in 2021 and have had trouble finding a good chiropractor until we found Dr Wilson fall of 2025. He is very knowledgable and really zoomed into our individual needs.
Dr. Matt has done wonders for me and I recommend him highly – I can’t say enough good things about him. Dr. Matt and staff are good people and will take great care of you.
Very professional and in depth consultation. These people seem to genuinely care about people’s health and progress.
